About this date

World Wildlife Day is the United Nations day for the world's wild animals and plants, held on 3 March every year. It marks the signing of the convention on international trade in endangered species in 1973.

For a primary school it is the clearest hook in the spring term for habitats, adaptation and classification - and it falls in the same fortnight as British Science Week, so many schools run the two together.

Pricing

Our costs vary depending on the type of workshop you choose. Virtual reality sessions are more expensive due to the equipment needed to run them. Prices exclude VAT.

Questions schools ask

Before you book

How far ahead should we book World Wildlife Day?

A term ahead if you want the day itself. It falls in the same fortnight as British Science Week, which is the busiest point in our calendar, so early March fills early. Later in March is far easier to secure.

Can we combine it with our Science Week day?

Yes, and many schools do. One booking can cover both - the wildlife content sits comfortably inside a Science Week timetable, and it saves a second visit fee.

Does it work for Reception as well as Year 6?

Yes. Wild Animals in VR runs from EYFS to Year 6 and the pacing and questioning change with the age group, so one day can cover the whole school.

What do we need to provide on the day?

One large, clear indoor space with the chairs stacked, and a power socket. We bring everything else, including the headsets, charging and cleaning kit.
